MART - Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art
The MART - Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rovereto, is made up of three sites and is one of the most important museums in Italy and Europe.
The museum's main campus, inaugurated in 2002, is an absolute highlight for architecture enthusiasts. The building, designed by Swiss architect Mario Botta and engineer Giulio Andreolli from Rovereto, has a large round courtyard and a bright stone facade.
The MART houses an impressive variety of 20th and 21st-century artworks. With more than 6,000 square meters of exhibition space, it offers ample room for more than 7,000 exhibits of painting and sculpture. Part of the permanent exhibition are examples of Italian Futurism as well as American Minimalism, works by Fortunato Depero, Crali, Fillia, Dottori, Balla, Thayaht, Prampolini, Marinetti and Iras Baldessari.
There are always special changing exhibitions on various topics, generous space for educational activities, study and research as well as a comprehensive library.
Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm, Fridays until 9 pm and closed on Mondays.
