Climbing garden at the Marmitte dei Giganti
Far away from the hustle and bustle of the much-visited climbing walls around the climbing Mecca of Arco, lie the oversized funnels of the Marmitte dei Giganti or pots of the giants.
These rock formations were sanded smooth by the unimaginably powerful glacial movements and today offer an impressive natural phenomenon. At the glacier mills, the formation history is in several languages. Especially worth seeing is the main basin filled with water.
To the left of the funnel, there is a climbing wall with about 17 routes between 15 and 50 metres in length, and difficulties between 4 and 7a, all kinds of holds and lots of rest.
After climbing, we recommend a visit to the picturesque port town of Torbole. The city and especially the beach "Spiaggia Conca d'Oro" offer the best conditions for windsurfing, which is why it is extremely popular with the surfers on Lake Garda.
Here is the climbing garden:
From Torbole, you drive towards Nago or Rovereto. Before the first right turn, there is a small bar with paid parking. On foot from Torbole, you reach the rock face over a 1.5 km long hiking trail or by bike over the busy main road to Nago. You can get to the climbing wall via a shady hiking trail through an olive grove.
