Servite Monastery of Santa Maria
In 1689, the Servite Monastery near Arco, north of Lake Garda, was founded by one of the most famous spiritual writers of the era, the Venetian Maria Arcangela Biondini.
After joining the Servite Monastery in Burano, she moved to Arco, where, with the support of the Habsburgs, she built the convent, to which, over time, a men's monastery of the Servites joined.
The monastery welcomes those interested in the monastic life and offers eight single rooms with garden, a small oratory and a shared kitchen. Visitors can also take part in the masses of the monastic community, provided they observe the rules of the monastery. Accommodation is possible with a voluntary donation.
The modest monastery is one of the most impressive destinations on Lake Garda. It is on the outskirts of Arco, near the river Sarca.
