Historical paths in Sommacampagna

The tranquil Sommacampagna does not offer attractions such as large amusement parks, high-profile events or similar. Instead, there are some remarkable tracks and exciting ways to get closer to the region and its unique features.

For one thing, there are two nature trails in Sommacampagna, more precisely in the Custoza district, which can be explored on foot or by mountain bike: "Cammina Custoza" is around 8 km long and leads you through the typical landscape of the moraine hills with botanical peculiarities. "Tamburino Sardo" is a 3 km long path that follows the crest of Monte Croce and offers a beautiful view of the vineyards.

In Sommacampagna you can also follow in the footsteps of history. Especially those left by the combat of the Risorgimento, the Italian unification movement. For this purpose, the municipality created a circular course on which you pass historical sites and corresponding monuments, such as the ossuary of Custoza.

There is another road in Sommacampagna that is less history-related and more grape-related. The Strada del Vino Bianco. In the surrounding vineyards, the Bianco di Custoza grapes have been grown here for a long time. The pressed white or straw-yellow wine is characterised by its distinctive scent and a dry, gentle yet spicy aroma. The white wine road leads past all major wineries and vineyards in the area.
