The Vigne di San Pietro winery in Sommacampagna

Southeast of Lake Garda in the small town of Sommacampagna, the lush moraine hills of clay-limestone testifies to glacial movements of the ice age. On the hillside, especially on two of these hills, at the vineyards, San Pietro and I Balconi Rossi, grapes such as Garganega, Cortese, Corvina, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot thrive.

Excellent wine makes lovely souvenirs, and in the Vigne di San Pietro near Verona, you will find plenty to choose from to brighten up any night.

With the intention to improve their lives, the Nerozzi family from Verona bought the winery with its ivy-covered house on the San Pietro hill in 1980. Today their son, architect Carlo Nerozzi continues the tradition and manages the 10 hectares of this romantic vineyard at Lake Garda.

Nerozzi's father believed in the need to live in harmony with nature and the all-encompassing wisdom of the earth. Their grapes are the direct beneficiary of this awareness, and every year in autumn, local men and women are drawn to this energetically powerful place to collect the grapes during harvest. This holistic approach called Vinotherapy benefits not only the wines but also the people with its positive energy.

After maturing, the excellent wines of San Pietro are produced: among others, the red wines Bardolino and Valpolicella and the white wine Custoza. Probably the most famous wine of the estate is the Refolà, a creation of Nerozzi's father, named after a wind. DueCuori is a sweet wine that Nerozzi dedicated to his parents and the rosé wine CorDeRosa is for his Brazilian partner Regina.
