Winter holidays at Lake Garda
If you think that Lake Garda is a holiday destination only for the summer, then you're wrong! The villages and towns around the lake also offer numerous holiday adventures in the colder months, with fewer crowds, warm and cosy hotels and some magical winter moments.
Christmas markets are no longer exclusively in the mountains. At Lake Garda, celebrating the festive season is also a highlight with wonderful Christmas lights, beautifully decorated market stalls and the smell of mulled wine and cookies.
In recent years, particularly in the villages on the north shore of Lake Garda, more and more Christmas events have been organised, like the Christmas market in Arco or that in Tenno.
In Riva del Garda, Santa's House (Casa di Babbo Natale) brings a sparkle to children's eyes. Here you can watch the elves as they help Santa Claus pack presents for the good kids. The little ones may even slip into the role of magical helpers and create exciting crafts.
Not only at Christmas
Lake Garda not only surprises winter holidaymakers but also at Christmas time with a warm, welcoming atmosphere and exciting winter activities. While there are numerous exhibitions, fairs and cultural events in the villages around the lake, winter sports fans in the higher altitudes can let off steam. In the Lake Garda region, there are ski areas with well-groomed slopes and special views.
A short trip on New Year's Eve is also recommended. Here you can celebrate with glittering parties and fireworks right on the lake. To warm up, you can escape into the comfort of your spa or in one of the thermal baths with soothing healing water.
Enjoy the reasonable prices and generous offers of our hotels in the winter at Lake Garda!
