Motorcycling around Lake Garda

Blue water shimmers below the peaks, glittering in the sun. Lake Garda is the largest lake in Italy with one of the most beautiful riverside roads in the world. For children it elicits happy cries, for some romantics, it is a paradise on earth, and for bikers, it is the ultimate tour destination! It has a mild Mediterranean climate, that makes motorcycling pleasant in every season.

Avoid the high season and busy weekends. Far away from these peak times, there are beautiful roads to lean in, pass dreamlike viewpoints and medieval villages, great for walking and strolling. Around Lake Garda many tours can be combined in different ways and offer a variety of possible motorcycle excursions. If you’ve never been to Lake Garda or you don't know it in all its facets, you should certainly plan a tour.

If it gets too crowded on the quays, it's a good idea to tour the surrounding mountains of Trentino or one of the many smaller lakes in the area. Three of these enchanting lakes are on the famous Three Lakes Tour.

For the night there are reasonable and hospitable accommodations, which specialise in motorcyclists and offer free parking and tour recommendations. Food wise, the area has a lot up its sleeve, and the region has many specialities to discover.

If you plan your vacation in advance, you can make the trip a driving pleasure; Coming from the north, for example, take the path over the Alps. There are some safe alpine passes, which provide memorable impressions in desolate heights and deserted expanses, such as the Gavia Pass or the famous Stelvio Pass. Then you can enjoy the lively atmosphere on the lake afterwards. For the planning of the journey over the passes, we recommend a motorbike map and information about the opening hours of the mountain passes.
